So, you want your wedding lingerie to look good, but more importantly, support and flatter you where you need it. Preparation is key: let’s start with what to do when you’re on the hunt for your dress.

Before: What Should I Wear to try on Wedding Dresses?

There’s three key things to remember when thinking about what lingerie you should wear to try on your potential wedding dresses: wearing a bra that is the right size, wearing something strapless or with detachable straps, and wearing something with no visible outlines.

Firstly, and this sounds obvious, make sure that you’re wearing a bra that is the right size. No matter the dress style you opt for, it isn’t going to fit you properly if you’re wearing the wrong size bra. Having the right bra is like a good omen: a good bra will lead you to a good dress.

Wear a strapless bra (or one with detachable straps) and cover your bases. Whether you’ve decided on a dress with straps or not, having a good, supportive strapless bra is going to help in both instances. A nude strapless bra is your best bet. You’ve got so many decisions to make with your dress, so by opting for underwear that not only supports you, but blends with your body, you’re going to help make the fitting process as smooth as possible. This should ideally be invisible too, so you're not left with any lines under the dresses you try.

The answer is a strapless bra. If you’ve gone for a traditional wedding dress, it makes sense to go for a nude or white bra. Your bra should be there to support you and flatter you, so the most important thing is that you feel comfortable and covered.

Remember these words: strapless is safe. The same thing applies here as it does when dress shopping, so unless you’ve found a style of dress that offers you complete lingerie freedom, you’re probably going to want to stick to a strapless bra.
